An Unlikely Video Star is born

In what clearly was an act of desperation by industry friends of Steve’s, he was asked to “star” in a series of online instructional videos for Lava Lamp. Yes, that Lava Lamp…the original from the ’70s, or, at least, it was for him.

In this particular video, Steve, in his own cheeky way, demonstrates how to coax an unruly heating coil to the bottom of the lamp. If you thought Jim Carrey made faces, wait until you see this.

All in all, Steve performed courageously for a guy who’s trained to write, produce and cast these himself, so don’t expect to see him on the red carpet come Oscar night.

But for the record, Tom Cruise has never starred in a Lava Lamp video. Brad Pitt hasn’t. Nor Tom Hanks, Robert Redford, Bradley Cooper, Will Smith, Kevin Costner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Al Pacino, the list goes on. Stallone, De Niro, Eastwood, Schwarzenegger, and so on — not even Mathew McConaughey

Yet, Steve Yoder has (fist bump).
